    Course Summary

The Toronto Film School’s 18 month diploma in Acting for Film, TV and the Theatre is heavily rooted in the Stanislavski method of acting. It seeks to bring together the commonalities of acting for television, the movies and the stage, and teach you the most critical skills that can be applied to all three. You’ll explore all aspects of acting, including the technical artistic and business skills that you’ll need to create and maintain a successful career.

You’ll learn from well-known professionals, many of whom have worked on such famous projects as Taken, Orphan Black, American Gods and The Handmaid’s Tale.

You will also learn a great many easily transferrable skills, including professional research methods, communication and presentation skills and good computer literacy. These will make it possible for you to explore advanced degrees in many fields, or to take up a role in nearly any industry or economic sector.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
