However they have a deep commitment to remaining accessible to international and indigenous students of all levels of English language ability. In order to allow students who do not meet the IELTS, TOEFL or other English language ability scores required for admission may instead apply for entry into the ESL (English as a Second Language) Pathway Program.

This program was designed to prepare international students to enter the degree and diploma programs at both the Toronto Film School and Yorkville University. It will not only let you brush up on your language skills, it will prepare you for Canada’s academic environment by improving your skills in critical thinking, communicating orally and delivering presentations, and the style, syntax and cohesion requirements of academic writing. Furthermore, it will help you explore your academic expectations, and avoid any cultural or social misunderstandings.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market.
