    Course Summary

The video games industry is one of the world’s fastest growing, and graduates with video game specific skills in design and animation are in short supply. This degree will see you learning exactly these highly marketable skills from some of the designers and developers who worked on landmark games like Red Dead Redemption 2 Max Payne 3 and the Grand Theft Auto series.

The Toronto Film School’s 18 month diploma in Video Game Design & Animation is delivered over 6 separate terms. Students will learn to design games for consoles, PCs, mobile and web-based platforms, as well as to create the kind of artwork, animations and music these games need.

You will also learn many transferrable skills, such as professional research methods, communication and presentation and excellent computer literacy. These will make it possible for you to explore advanced degrees in many fields, or to take up a role in nearly any industry or economic sector.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
