    Course Summary

The film and television industry is huge in Toronto, as it is in North America generally. It demands skilled writers in greater numbers every year. This is your opportunity to train for that under writers who have worked on projects like Sneaky Pete, Inspector Gadget, Frontier and Mr. D.

The Toronto Film School’s 18 month diploma in Marketing for Fashion and Entertainment is delivered over 6 separate terms. Students will learn by doing, writing actual pieces in an environment styled after actual industry writing rooms. You’ll participate in table-reads, gain experience in running a show on set and off, and learn to use modern editing software.

You will also learn a great many easily transferrable skills, including professional research methods, communication and presentation skills and good computer literacy. These will make it possible for you to explore advanced degrees in many fields, or to take up a role in nearly any industry or economic sector.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
