    Course Summary

    Trent University offers a Master of Management program which is unique in the province. It is delivered by the Trent School of Business in the Durham, Greater Toronto area. It is designed for non-business graduates who wish to take what they have learned at the baccalaureate level, and prepare for a career in that field at the management or leadership levels.

    This is a heavily course-based program. You can begin fresh from your Baccalaureate studies or with up to 5 years of working experience behind you. It includes a summer work term with integrated learning elements. 

    You’ll get a great deal of one on one learning time with your professors, which will be of great help to you whether you continue on to a PhD or research degree, or whether you enter into the work force after graduation. It ensures that you gain the in-depth knowledge you need to build a career in any of hundreds of different fields.

    Course Outline

    This program is typically delivered over 12 months at full time.

    It is designed to give you a great competitive edge compared to graduates without advanced leadership and business training. The program was developed in consultation with some of the largest employers in the region, and nationally. It gives you exactly the skills they demand in a high level employee. It will teach you everything a manager needs to know about corporate finance accounting, strategic management and even marketing.

    One of th strongest points of the program is the integrated work learning project in the summer. This give you a minimum of 160 hours working I your field in a leadership capacity, something that will improve any CV.

    Learning And Teaching

    Trent’s Master’s level modules are usually delivered via lectures, seminars and tutorial sessions. In addition, you’ll learn a wide array of different management and leadership skills in rela and simulated business environments.

    Especially in the beginning, large lecture classes serve to introduce new ideas. Afterwards, smaller and more interactive seminar sessions help you understand the lecture material on a deeper level and relate it to real world cultural situations.

    Entry & Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 1 year MSc degree.

    To enter Trent University’s Master of Management program, you’ll need to have a BA or BSc Honours degree, or the international equivalent. You need not have working experience, but that is encouraged.

     All classes are taught in English unless otherwise noted, and international students will also be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test.
