    Course Summary

An MSc in Psychology from Trent University serves as a great way to move up to a Doctoral program in Psychology and the professional status that comes with it. However, it is quite possible to gain a very practical perspective and to enter into a range of careers involving communications, science and health.

This is a heavily research intensive program, but it is also highly interdisciplinary. Most of the curriculum comes from one of three specialties – Developmental Psychology, Health Psychology, and a combined nexus of Cognition, Perception and Neuroscience-based psychology.

You’ll get a great deal of one on one learning time with your professors, which will be of great help to you whether you continue on to a PhD or research degree, or whether you enter into the work force after graduation. It ensures that you gain the in-depth knowledge you need to build a career in any of hundreds of different fields.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
