Course Summary
Brighton University’s BA in Architecture seeks to establish Architecture as an inherently social discipline, not just a technical profession. In addition to the skills you’ll need to practice technically as an architect, this degree program will give you a deep and nuanced understanding of the entire field. You’ll develop a unique ‘voice’ for yourself and your designs, and understand how to interpret your work from an artistic, scientific and humanistic perspective. This will be challenging, but also very rewarding.
You will learn real world skills as well, of course. The university maintains close links with organisations like RIB South East, who help to include professional skills training and expert mentoring to all of Brighton’s Architecture students. You’ll learn in the field, visiting architectural projects in the local community. On graduation, you’ll receive a RIBA Part 1 certification in addition to your BA degree. This will be only the first of your many professional qualifications as your career progresses.
