    Brighton University’s MEng program specialises in Automotive Engineering is recognised the world over as a mark of competence in a very competitive industry. The APC (Advanced Propulsion Centre) has recognised Brighton as ‘the National Centre of Excellence for Internal Combustion Engine Thermal Efficiency’, so potential employers will know that you studied under tutors at the very forefront of engine technology and automotive innovation.

    You’ll study more than the technical aspects of the industry, though. Master’s level study will give you a deep understanding of the business, management and leadership aspects of being a senior engineer.

    An important part of this program is the option to spend a year in industrial placement within the automotive industry.     Learning & Teaching

    Taught modules will be delivered in a variety of ways, depending on the nature of the material and the skills or preferences of the course tutor. Individual or small scale tutorials, interactive seminars and large scale lectures will all be common, and most programs will also make extensive use of work placements, field trips and site visits, laboratory or workshop sessions and more. You will also do a great deal of independent study and reading.

    Graduating this course with satisfactory marks qualifies you as a Chartered Engineer, one of the most sought-after professional certifications in the industry. Better still, most employers will recognise your management and leadership training. That means MEng graduates are more likely to be fast-tracked into management positions.     Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 4 year integrated BEng/MEng degree.

    Applicants must typically have earned 3 A Levels at BCC or higher, but other qualifications are also accepted. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.0 in writing and no element scoring less than 5.5 would qualify, for example.
