    Course Summary

Canterbury Christ Church University’s BSc degree in Business Management is a great option for anyone who is passionate about a career in business, wants to found their own start-up, or needs to know more about management to pursue their desired career track.

You’ll study broad subjects like marketing, accounting and economics, but also gain a highly detailed, practically oriented understanding of managing a business in the public, retail or service sectors.

This program includes an integrated foundation year. This is important in that it allows students who do not meet the traditional requirements for a 3 year BSc degree program – especially those of Maths and Science A Levels – to not only enter into the program but excel in it.

Because this is a BSc and not a BA degree, it also serves as an entry point for a higher educational journey at the MSc or even PhD level.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.

    Learning & Teaching

Taught modules will be delivered in a variety of ways, depending on the nature of the material and the skills or preferences of the course tutor. Modules in the main section of this course typically begin with foundational content, leading up to advanced materials in the latter sessions. You’ll typically take 6 modules concurrently each year, and they have been chosen to synergise well in terms of skills, techniques and vocabulary.

    Career Possiblities

This course will prepare you well for a career in business. That is a very broad category, and your specialisation will be as much determined by your choice of optional modules as the state of the various industries when you graduate. Recent graduates of the program have gone into Project Management, Banking, Retail Management, and similar roles, but others have become Teachers, Airline Pilots, Air Traffic Controllers or joined the armed forces.

    Entry Credit

Successful completion will result in a 3 year BSc degree.

Applicants must typically have earned at least 32 UCAS Tariff Points to enter the foundation year, but other qualifications are also accepted. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. A good IELTS score would qualify, for example.
