It is one of the UK’s longest running MBA programs, and delivers a wide range of vital business skills. Businesses, public sector bodies and not-for-profit organisations all understand what it takes to earn an MBA from a respected school like UOS, and the skills such graduates bring to their organisations.

This degree program is delivered by UOS’s famous Business School. The Business School is a Partner in Learning with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (the ICAEW), and is fully accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Not only will employers recognise what this says about your skill as a graduate, you’ll gain professional certifications along with your degree. You’ll gain a CMI Level 7 Award in Professional Consulting as well as a CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Course Outline

This program is typically delivered over a single year at full time. Most classes are held in the afternoon and evenings two days each week, from 2pm to 9pm. This allows students to attend full time classes without leaving their current positions.

You’ll study at the Waterfront Building in Ipswich, in a small cohort of 10-15 students. This ensures that you’ll each have sufficient contact time to make the most out of every module and your own research projects. It includes several optional extras, such as frequent guest lectures from practicing management professionals and the chance to engage in a week long consultancy experience in one of the United States’ financial capitols, Boston Massachusetts.

     Modules Include:

    • Consultancy Management
    • Consultancy Management with International Business
    • Managing Strategic Change
    • Managing Through Finance
    • Organizational Behaviour
    • Project Management
    • Research Methods
    • Strategic Marketing
    • Dissertation

The dissertation requirement includes conducting a substantial piece of research as well as demonstrating your skill with applying appropriate research methods.

    Learning & Teaching

The curriculum of the University of Suffolk’s courses takes advantage of the school’s smaller size to make best use of flexible, creative learning. Traditional models (lectures, seminars, etc.) will be used side by side with Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and fully integrated employability content.

In addition to optional participation in a placement in order to impart real world skills pertaining to your chosen specialty, you’ll be taught widely applicable (and highly transferrable) skills.

    Career Possiblities

UOS’s degree programs are all designed to make you a highly employable graduate, but their MBA might just be the flagship of such programs. The curriculum is constantly updated to ensure that you are learning the best practices of a wide range of organisations, and that you are familiar with the latest thinking in the field. As you’ll have not only an MBA but also both a CMI Level 7 Award in Professional Consulting and a CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management under your belt, you’ll be in an excellent position to apply for nearly any role.

    Entry Credit

Successful completion will result in a full MBA degree, CMI Award in Professional Consulting

And a CMI Diploma in Strategic Management.

Students must typically have been awarded a 2:2 or better first degree to apply. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no section scoring less than 5.5 would qualify, for example.
