    Course Outline

This is a three year program, with an additional placement year taken between years 2 and 3.

    Year 1:

In your first year of the University of Sussex’s Marketing and Management BSc degree, you’ll study a series of core modules which include introductions to management, business law, accounting, marketing, organisational behaviour and HRM, as well as a basis in accounting.

    Year 2:

Your second year in the program will cover marketing and consumer behaviour as well as more advanced management and HRM topics. You’ll also be able to select from a wide range of elective classes that will help you specialise your educational journey.

    Placement Year:

For one year, you will work in a paid placement role with one of Sussex’s partner organisations. More detail can be found here.

    Year 3:

In your third year, you will have few core modules. Most will instead be selected from specialist electives, and will help you to become an expert in one or more areas of marketing and management practice.

    Learning & Teaching

You will experience a wide range of learning and teaching styles over the course of this program. Most modules will involve a mix of lectures, seminars, tutorials and group work. There will also be a great deal of independent study, and practical workshops designed to convey the reality of the business environment.

The year of professional placement will be an important learning experience, but will be actual work in your field.

    Career Possiblities

This course provides an impressive mix of theoretical understanding and practical experience in the marketing and management fields. You’ll also be able to work in roles involving digital marketing, market research and management consultancy.
