    Course Summary

Learning about the biological sciences means exploring the near-infinite complexity and diversity of living beings and living relationships hidden throughout the world around us. This program will give you not only the theoretical understanding of life processes you’ll need to make advances in the life sciences, you’ll gain the kind of practical research, communication and critical thinking skills that can be applied to nearly any career, in or out of the sciences.

You’ll be able to explore your own interests with specialty modules, and apply what you’ve learned to contemporary issues and situations. You’ll enjoy a hands-on teaching approach as well as many opportunities to lean in real world settings far beyond the laboratory or lecture hall. You might learn about primatology at Bristol Zoo, or take part in an expedition to an island off the shore of Cuba or travel to even more exotic Madagascar to study biodiversity or climate change.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
