    This degree program is typically delivered over a single year at full time or 2 years at part time. The part time option ensures that it remains accessible to students with career, family or other time commitments.

    Learning & Teaching

    As this is a Master’s level program, you’ll do a great deal of self-directed learning and present your work to others in your class. Extended discussions between yourself, your peers and the course tutor will lead to greater insight. The small class size and student-centred teaching methods employed will make the most of your skill and real world working experience. All taught elements will be resented on campus in Winchester.

    Career Possiblities

    Graduates of Winchester’s Information Security MSc program will be better qualified to advance in their current career or indeed to branch out into a role in the public or private sector, such as that of Information Security Manager or Business Development Manager. Alternatively, many students seek to start their own cyber security-oriented consultancy organisations. Approximately 94% of graduates will find employment or enter into a training or degree program within 6 months of successfully completing the program.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in an MSc degree.

    Applicants must typically have earned a 2nd class honours degree (or the international equivalent) in a related field. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.0 overall and at least 5.5 in writing would qualify, for example.
