    Course Outline

    This is a one year, full time course consisting of an autumn, a spring and a summer term.

    Term1:

    Your first term will develop the skills, knowledge and techniques you will need to master higher level modules and write your final dissertation. These modules include Managerial Economics, Introduction to strategic Management, Business Information Systems and Advanced Financial Management.

    Term 2:

    Your second term will see you building your skill set with the Qualitative Research Methods and Operations & Project Management modules. In addition, you may choose 2 modules from the electives list for this term.

    Term 3:

    In the summer term, you will have a single 10-credit module on Quantitative Methods and Data Analysis. The majority of your time this term, however, will be spent writing a 12,000 word dissertation worth 60 credits. You can select a topic and work with the guidance and support of a personal supervisor. This supervisor will be selected for their expertise in the sub-field in which you are writing.

    Entry Credit

    Entry Requirements for UK and EU-nationals

    The University of York’s MSc in Management with Business Finance program requires you to have achieved a 2:1 degree or better at the undergraduate level. This degree should be in Finance, Accounting, Management or Economics, ideally with some modules in all four disciplines.

    Entry Requirements for overseas (non-EU) students

    International students must be fluent in written and spoken English. This can be demonstrated by an IELTS score of 6.5 or better overall, a 6.5 in Writing, and with no component scoring less than 6.0.
