    Course Summary

    A Joint BA in Accounting and Finance from Wrexham Glyndŵr University prepares you for your choice of careers in the private, public or not-for-profit sectors. No matter what industry or career path you choose, you’ll have many challenging and lucrative options.

    You’ll learn about the basis of both accounting and finance, as well as more specialised material covering computerised accounting systems, auditing, taxation, corporate finance, both financial and management accounting and financial reporting.

    This course is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and successful completion can earn you u to six exemptions from testing into that organisation. That will make your journey to Chartered Accountant status much easier, though of course that is not the only route open to you.

    Employers see professional exemptions as proof of a thorough accounting education, and often give applicants with these qualifications preference over applicants who do not have them.

    If you opt for a period of professional placement, you’ll have a substantial advantage over many other graduates.     Learning And Teaching

    Wrexham Glyndŵr University delivers its degree programs through a mixture of different teaching and assessment methods. These will include a great deal of self-directed reading and study, e-learning and distance learning, practical skills workshops, interactive tutorials and large scale lectures.

    You will receive detailed instruction on and experience using the latest industry standard software packages for auditing, accounting and business communications. Academic skills tutors will also be available to all Wrexham students.

    Career Possibilities

    Wrexham Glyndŵr University has created a BA degree program in Accounting and Finance which is specifically geared to produce excellent graduate employment rates. Recent graduates have gone on to work as Teachers, Tax Assistants, Stock Controllers, Investment Consultants, Business Analysts, Auditors and Accountants of all kinds.

    Entry & Credit

    Successful completion will result in a full BA degree.

    Students must typically have been awarded at least 112 UCAS Tariff points to apply. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. A good IELTS score would qualify, for example.
