    Course Summary

    York St John University’s International Tourism ND Hospitality Management degree is intended to prepare graduates to work in the hospitality and / or tourism industries on the global scale. The course is heavily career oriented, and will prepare you to work in large hotels, at tourist destinations or to open your own business in a related field. It is a very broad-minded curriculum, which will encompass many unique subsectors of these industries. Opportunities will exist for field trips to operations and destinations both within the UK and abroad.

    You’ll learn basic business skills as well as the industry specific capabilities you’ll need to succeed in this competitive field. You’ll come to understand the massive place both tourism and hospitality have in the global economy, and how they can be managed to maintain long term sustainability both in the ecological and economic sense. You’ll also learn core professional skills which can be applied to nay career.

    Learning & Teaching

    York St John’s University uses a wide range of learning, teaching and assessment techniques. These typically include large, formal lectures, smaller seminar sessions, tutorials and practical skills workshops as well as visits by industry experts and other guest speakers. During the first year of the program, learning will be fully guided. However, as you progress you will become more and more responsible for your own independent learning. Support will be available at all levels.
