    Course Summary

A BSC degree in Construction Engineering and Management from Ulster University is a great way to prepare yourself for a management or leadership role in the construction industry. Not only will you gain the technical, leadership and managerial skills you’ll need to operate at those levels, you’ll gain important professional accreditations as well.

By the time you complete the program you’ll have earned not just a BSc in Construction Engineering and Management but also either a Diploma in Professional Practice (DPP) or a Diploma in Professional Practice (International) (DPPI). The latter is particularly useful if you are interested in a global career.

You’ll study the technologies that make modern construction possible, the legal framework which defines industry practice, and cutting edge techniques like BIM and sustainable construction. You’ll also be able to select your own field (or fields) of specialisation by choosing elective modules which appeal to both your interests and intended career pathway.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills.
