    Course Summary

    Ulster University’s BSc in International Travel and Tourism Management was created to supply the travel and tourism industries in Northern Ireland and around the world with the skilled, highly trained manages they need to meet ever growing demand. It is a great choice for students who would like to work in either of these exciting industries in a management, executive or leadership capacity.

    You’ll learn how businesses in the international travel and tourism spaces operate both at home and abroad, and come to understand the tactics that the best of them use to overcome the many challenges they face each year. It is a 4 year program, and you’ll gain quite a bit in that time. When you’ve graduated, you’ll have all of the background knowledge and real world hospitality skills you’ll need to either take a role with a thriving travel and tourism oriented business, or to start your own business in this rapidly growing field.

    Year 1

    You’ll begin with a core curriculum designed to teach the basics of the travel and tourism industry.

    Year 3

    Learning & Teaching

    These will convey the broad, theoretical concepts which will give you a context for more specific knowledge. In addition, you’ll attend smaller scale practical sessions and tutorials which will let you explore specific management and business scenarios in much greater detail. You’ll attend a series of talks given by leaders in these industries, and participate in workshops designed to give you the skills you’ll need to succeed in the real world.

    Career Possiblities

    You’ll be qualified to take on a role in any of a number of careers spanning these two rapidly expanding industries. Recent graduates of Ulster’s International Travel and Tourism Management course have become Visitor Attraction Managers, Tourism Marketing Managers, Hotel Managers, Events Managers, Digital Marketing Managers, Airport Operations Professionals and even Airline Managers for organisations like Visit Britain, Tourism NI, Tourism Ireland, Loch Lomond Golf Resort, Emirates, Disney and Aer Lingus.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 4 year BSc degree.

    Applicants must typically have earned 3 A Levels at BCC or better, but other qualifications are also accepted. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test.
