Course Summary
A degree in Film Production from the University for the Creative Arts is an in-depth exploration of the film maker’s art. It is also a very practical course intended to give you the technical and critical skills you’ll need to be taken seriously in this very competitive field.
The emphasis is heavily on the practical, and the motto of the program is that you learn best by doing. You’ll spend as little as 25% of your time learning art and film theory, and the rest learning how to actually make great art. You may even see your coursework screened at national or international film festivals and competitions.
The program encompasses everything – film making, film production, screen writing, directing, editing, sound recording, visual effects (VFX), cinematography and editing. You’ll also learn how to handle the business side of film production, including the networking and communications skills you’ll need to make your next project succeed.
