    Course Summary

The University of Aberdeen’s International Law and Strategic Studies LLM lets you explore how different governments and organisations use the law to regulate, control or avoid conflict on an international scale. It explores how different bodies use force to achieve different security or political objectives, and provides a unique perspective on the many conflicts ongoing in the world today.

You’ll study with the university’s academic staff using materials presented by several lawyers who are internationally renowned in this field. These will give you insight into the way these two disciplines interact to shape the face of conflict and international law. It will also give you several key competencies which today’s legal employers are keen to acquire.

The International Law and Strategic Studies LLM is headed by expert staff, including Dr Irène Couzigou (Program Director), who has taught in Paris, Mannheim and Heidelberg before coming to Aberdeen.
