    Learning And Teaching

The University of Alberta’s degree programs are delivered through fairly standard lesson formats. In all cases, the teaching methods have been selected to help students gain a deep understanding of the field and its place in society, to engage the minds of the students, to develop an atmosphere of mutual respect, and to ensure an optimal environment for learning. In addition to knowledge of the field, the students will develop independent critical thinking skills.

    Career Possibilities

There are many different ways to found a career in finance. Organisations in both the public and private sectors hire finance specialists in roles involving general management, investment analysis, controllership and more. However, many students seek an education in finance in order to go into business for themselves, obtaining their own financing and making investment decisions.  In addition to financial ability, you’ll develop the career management skills you need to thrive in today’s competitive business world.

Successful completion will result in a full BCom degree.

To apply, you’ll need to have been awarded a high school diploma or the international equivalent, with at least 5 subjects at 70% or better. Note that admission is competitive.

All classes are taught in English unless otherwise specified, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test.
