    Bolton University’s Biomedical Engineering BEng degree program is designed to give you the scientific and engineering understanding needed to take up a career in the medical technology industry. You’ll learn how to improve existing medical technologies as well as to design and create the medical technologies of the future, based on the latest scientific advances, and those advances yet to come.

    Course Outline

    This program is typically delivered over three years at full time.  

    In addition to technical knowledge, you’ll learn how the field of biomedical engineering influences and is influenced by other fields, such as economics and ethics.

    Learning & Teaching

    Bolton University’s Engineering courses are typically delivered via lectures, seminars and tutorial sessions. The lecture classes serve to introduce new ideas and content. Next, seminar sessions help you explore that material more deeply and to relate it to practical concerns. Finally, you can use the tutorials to interact directly with tutors, asking questions and cementing your comprehension of the course content. You’ll typically be assessed via exams, essays and other coursework.

    Career Possiblities

    Bolton’s Engineering programs are intended to turn out highly employable graduates. This program is currently obtaining accreditation from the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), so will likely come with professional certifications or testing exemptions in a very short time.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a full BEng degree.

    Students must typically have been awarded 96 UCAS Tariff Points to apply. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.0 overall and with no section scoring less than 5.5 would qualify, for example.
