    The University of Bradford’s BSc degree in Accounting and Finance not only gives you the skills you’ll need to begin a rewarding career in the financial sector or the accountancy profession, it ensures that you have the business and leadership skills necessary to eventually take up a responsible, management-level role in your chosen industry.

    You’ll study subjects like business law and administration, taxation, compliance and reporting requirements, financial and management auditing and many different aspects of investment, finance and capital markets. The program is accredited by the AACSB, the AMBA and Equis, and individual modules can convey exemption from examinations to join organisations such as the ACCA, CIMA or AIA.

    This program incorporates a year in professional placement. This will be a wonderful opportunity to apply your skills in the real world, but also to see how accounting and finance professionals really work on a day to day basis.

    Learning & Teaching

    Bradford’s Accounting and Finance BSc is delivered primarily through the School of Management via directed learning. This will be reinforced with traditional teaching techniques such as large lecture classes, interactive tutorials and seminars presented to small groups. You will also experience guided private tutelage and the university’s virtual learning environment. You’ll attend guest lectures from industry leaders and professionals as well as prepare projects based on actual challenges faced by the university’ partner organisations.

    Career Possiblities

    In 2017 more than 91% of Bradford’s Accounting and Finance graduates had either accepted employment or gone on to higher level studies within 6 months. The DLHE tells us that their starting salaries averaged more than £22,000 per year. Many have gone into financial management or accounting, or into business management more generally. Recent graduates now work for organisations like the Department of Health, Barclays, the Royal Bank of Scotland and HSBC.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 4 year BSc degree with a year in placement.

    Applicants must typically have achieved 112 UCAS tariff points, or the international equivalent. Beyond that, a wide range of qualifications are accepted.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.0 or better would qualify, for example.
