    Psychology is the science whereby we try to understand the human experience subjectively. It is an umbrella term encompassing everything from the way groups interact socially, the way children develop and learn right from wrong or what constitutes a sense of ‘well-being’ to the actual physical processes of human and animal nervous systems.

    Course Outline

    This degree program is typically delivered over 4 years of full time study.

    You’ll begin by taking several introductory modules which will ensure you have the scientific and technical understanding to thrive throughout the rest of the program. In addition to the core curriculum, you will be able to select optional modules which will develop your own specialty.

    Learning And Teaching

    The University of British Columbia’s BSc program in Psychology is delivered via lectures and seminars, though you will also spend a great deal of time in the university’s state of the art psychological testing facilities and at special events such as the Distinguished Lecture Series. Some modules may be available as distance learning or blended learning programs. 

    You may even be able to design and conduct your own psychological research program, under suitable supervision.

    Applicants must typically have completed a university preparatory program at a senior secondary school, or the international equivalent. Great weight will be given to the GPA earned by your final year.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test.
