    Course Summary

This fully accredited BSc program from the University of Buckingham is an excellent choice for those students who may not have thought they had the academic prerequisites to enter an Honours BSc program, but can’t take 4 or more years to attend a foundation year and a standard BSc degree program. It will give you an in-depth understanding of the intricacies of Accounting and Finance in a total of just three years.

This is an intensive, accelerated degree program. Most universities only offer BSc degrees as 3 or 4 year programs on their own, whilst Buckingham makes it possible to earn a fully accredited, well-respected BSc degree in just two years, or with an integrated Foundation Year in only three. As these degrees make excellent first steps towards a Master’s program (at the University of Buckingham or elsewhere), you could earn your MSc in less time than some students take to earn a Bachelor’s degree!

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.

    Learning & Teaching

The University of Buckingham’s taught modules are delivered by a range of methods which vary by the subject matter and the preferences of the tutor. These typically include large lecture classes, smaller seminars and interactive tutorials. You will be assessed via examinations and coursework, and you will be given extensive feedback on your work. The teaching staff also take great pains to remain available to the students outside of normal class time.

    Career Possiblities

Of course, the bulk of the University of Buckingham’s Accounting and Finance graduates take up careers in either Finance or Accounting. However, this program also prepares you for a wide range of careers, from general management to financial services consulting.

Those graduates who wish to build careers in Accounting can gain important exemptions from testing into professional bodies by selecting the appropriate electives. This can really ‘fast track’ your career.

    Entry Credit

Successful completion will result in a fully accredited BSc degree.

Applicants must typically have achieved Grade C / 4 or better GCSEs in both English and Mathematics, but other qualifications are also accepted. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test such as the IELTS.
