Course Summary
A ChB degree from the University of Buckingham’s medical school is an in-depth medical degree program delivered in partnership with a range of hospitals, including and Stoke Mandeville Hospital, the South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust, St Andrews Hospital in Northampton and Milton Keynes University Hospital.
This degree has two distinct phases. In the first, you’ll take a wide range of interdisciplinary modules designed to familiarise you with the human body, its systems and disorders. This will be presented in a largely clinical context. By the time you’ve successfully completed phase 1, you’ll be able to examine patients properly, communicate with them effectively, and understand their health issues.
In the second phase, you’ll do extensive work developing your clinical skills. You’ll work with actual patients and other doctors in a range of clinical settings, and you’ll build up an expertise in virtually all aspects of hospital based and community based medical care provision.

Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
