Course Summary
The University of Central Lancashire’s BSc program in Clinical Dental Technology is unique throughout the UK. It sees students studying both as a dental technician and as a clinical dental technician at the same time. Years 1 and 2 are delivered in the university’s Preston campus, and the remainder in UCLan’s Dental Clinic. At that time you’ll be treating real patients, under supervision.
Clinical dental technicians are increasingly vital members of dental care teams, and dental technology graduates with proven clinical skills have excellent employment prospects in nearly any market. The course is also designed to allow graduates to apply for General Dental Council registry which allows them to take roles as Clinical Dental Technicians. This equips students to seek a career either as a primary care dentist, as a dental technologist, or in a roll bridging both skill sets. BDS and Dental Therapy material is also integrated into the program.
