    Course Summary

The business world has been changing very rapidly in the wake of the financial crisis a few years ago, and as a result organisations n many industries have been recruiting trained graduates with financial and accounting skills to help them establish clear business awareness and to ensure that their accountancy departments are capable of responding to challenges and new regulatory schemes as they arise.

The University of Chichester’s BA in Accounting and Finance will teach you not just accountancy skills but also how to be an effective manager in a wide range of business contexts. You’ll gain the background knowledge and theoretical perspectives you need to understand the problems these businesses face.

This degree program is fully accredited by the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (the ACCA). That means if you successfully complete the program you can expect to receive exemptions from several of the ACCA’s qualification exams – specifically the F1, F2, F3, F4, F7 and F9 exams.

    Learning & Teaching

Chichester’s Business School avoids the large lecture class format adopted by most UK universities, preferring to work with smaller groups of students in highly interactive tutorial sessions. This not only conveys the module material more completely, it helps students learn teamwork, collaboration, communication and time management skills. In addition, students will have many opportunities to do real world work interacting directly with commercial, industrial and business entities beyond the school.

    Career Possiblities

This degree is designed to prepare graduates to become fully qualified accountants and financial services professionals. Of course, some additional qualifications will be needed to secure Chartered Accountant or a similar status, but the ACCA exemptions you’ll receive will put you well on your way towards that. Other students will take the managerial and leadership skills they lean in this degree program to take on responsible roles throughout the financial services industry.

    Entry Credit

Successful completion will result in a 3 year BA degree.

Applicants must typically have earned 3 A Levels at CCC or higher, but other qualifications are also accepted. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An excellent IELTS score would qualify, for example.
