    Course Summary

The University of Chichester’s International Business MSc degree program includes an integrated pre-masters course that allows students with 3rd class undergraduate degrees to adequately prepare themselves with the English language fluency, the masters-level study skills and the overall business knowledge they will need to study International Business at the MSc level.

It is also an excellent route to a business MSc for students who have an undergraduate degree in a non-business field or discipline or who lack the fluency in the English language to study at the MSc level. Lastly, it is of interest to students with no undergraduate degree qualifications, but who have amassed a great deal of relevant professional experience in recent years.

Note that if you do have a relevant undergraduate degree at 2:2 or better, and that degree was either completed in English or you have an IELTS score of 6.5 or better, you may skip the pre-MSc sessions entirely, entering the degree program in January rather than October.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.

    Learning & Teaching

Chichester’s Business School avoids the large lecture class format adopted by most UK universities, preferring to work with smaller groups of students in highly interactive tutorial sessions.

If you achieve a 50% or better result on the pre-masters material (or are exempt from it), you can move on to the full MSc program. There you will have 10 weeks of assessed and non-assessed course work for each module, as well as a range of final assignments.

    Career Possiblities

This degree is designed to be multidisciplinary at its core. This allows you to seek a career in a wide range of sectors and business types, or more likely to increase your promotion potential in your current organisation. Employers of all kinds will value the range of skills you’ll command, including creative thinking, problem solving, leadership, team building and effective communication. You will also have the support of the university’s Careers and Employability team at all times.

    Entry Credit

Successful completion will result in a full MBA degree.

Applicants must typically have earned an undergraduate degree or have extensive relevant work experience, but other qualifications are also accepted. The full list of accepted qualifications can be found here.

All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An excellent IELTS score of 5.5 overall would qualify, for example.
