    Cumbria’s BA in Business Management is ideal for those who want to forge an exciting career in business or in the not for profit sector, either within the UK or globally. It will ensure that you get a well-rounded business education, receiving both the academic skills you need to excel and the practical skills you’ll need to make a name for yourself in business once you graduate.

    You’ll learn practical leadership, operations management, economic analysis problem solving, communications and decision making skills from expert tutors and industry professionals. 

    This degree program is delivered by Cumbria’s world famous Business School within the Lancaster Campus. That campus also hosts the Centre for Regional Economic Development, where industry, government and Cumbria’s own researchers work to understand and improve the economy of the North of England. That means you’ll be learning from and in many cases working with the people who have their fingers on the pulse of business and industry in the UK.

    Course Outline

    This program is typically delivered over three years at full time.

    Most of your curriculum will come from a common core which has been designed to give you all of the essential business, research, leadership and professional skills you will need to succeed in business generally. This will prepare you for the widest possible range of industries and roles within the public, private or not for profit sectors.

    However, you will also have the opportunity to specialise your education by selecting elective modules in your final year. You might choose to specialise in Marketing or HR Management.

    Learning & Teaching

    The curriculum of the University of Cumbria’s courses will include all of the expected teaching methods, most notably large scale lectures, guest speakers or presentations, peer review on coursework, interactive seminars, skills workshops, work placement, case studies and extensive use of the university’s Virtual learning Environment. In addition, you’ll learn how to do business and economic research, learn study skills and improve your overall employability by taking specific modules in years 2 and 3.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a full BA degree.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. A good IELTS score would qualify, for example.
