    Course Summary

    The BSc in Project Management offered by the University of Cumbria was designed to prepare students to take on exciting, responsible roles in many of the fastest growing industries across the UK and the world. As it complies with the guidance of the Association of Project Management, it can be your ticket to a rewarding career in the nuclear power, construction, manufacturing, engineering or IT industries.

    You’ll learn both general business skills and how to operate the project management software tools that are accepted as the current industry standards. With those, you’ll be ready to walk into nearly any project management role with littler no additional training.

    This degree program is delivered by Cumbria’s world famous Business School within the Lancaster Campus. That campus also hosts the Centre for Regional Economic Development, where industry, government and Cumbria’s own researchers work to understand and improve the economy of the North of England.

    Course Outline

    This program is typically delivered over three years at full time.

    Most of your curriculum will come from a common core which has been designed to give you all of the essential professional, communication leadership and technical skills you’ll need to make a name for yourself either as a part of any large organisation or as a project management consultant working for many organisations within the public, private or not for profit sectors.

    It will be delivered both face to face and through the university’s Virtual Learning Environment.

    Learning & Teaching

    The curriculum of the University of Cumbria’s courses will include all of the expected teaching methods, most notably large scale lectures, guest speakers or presentations, peer review on coursework, interactive seminars, skills workshops, work placement, case studies and extensive use of the university’s Virtual learning Environment.  You’ll also be able to engage with the community, build contacts and gain valuable real world experience by managing projects for the voluntary sector.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a full BSc degree.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. A good IELTS score would qualify, for example.
