    Course Summary

Renewable energy is a very rapidly growing industry, both in the UK and abroad. This set of degree programs is intended to provide that industry with the skilled graduates it needs to meet the world’s growing clean energy demands.

The BEng version of the degree combines mechanical and energy-based engineering skills, and the BSc/Msci version follows a more academic, science-led approach.

Other options from the University of Dundee include the Physics with Renewable Energy Science BSc. The MSci in Physics with Renewable Energy Science and the Mechanical Engineering with Renewables BEng.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.

    Learning & Teaching

Dundee’s International Banking program is delivered over 12 months. All of the modules include lectures and workshops, and many will also include student presentations on either a group or individual basis. Depending on your choice to focus on science or engineering, you will have many laboratory or industry-based lessons as well.

    Career Possiblities

The University of Dundee’s Renewable Energy courses prepare graduates for a wide range of careers, or serve as a pathway to higher learning and an eventual PhD. Alternatively you might take a role in teaching or research, or building the renewable infrastructure that the UK, Europe and the world are relying on more every year.

    Entry Credit

Entry Requirements for UK and EU-nationals

Dundee’s Renewables program requires 3 A-Levels at the BCC level (including maths and engineering, science or physics) or BBB for advanced entry. Other qualifications are accepted, though, so check here.

Entry Requirements for overseas (non-EU) students

International students must be fluent in written and spoken English. This can be demonstrated by an IELTS score of 6.0 or better overall, with no less than 6.0 in Writing, and 5.5 or better in Reading, Speaking and Listening.

International students must also have earned a degree that is the rough equivalent of that required for UK and EU students. The requirements can be found here.
