    Course Summary

    A degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of East London is the perfect choice if your career goals requite an accounting and/or finance degree, but you don’t qualify for entry into traditional courses.

    Your degree will be accredited by six of the most important accounting bodies in the English speaking world, including CIMA, ICAEW, ACCA, AIA and even CPA Australia.

    This degree incorporates an integrated foundation year, making it extremely accessible even to those students who may have been out of the educational system for some time or whose marks might not be good enough to get them into a standard Honours degree program. You can apply for this program after achieving as few as 64 UCAS Tariff Points. You needn’t have any particular A Levels ether, as all of the essential skills and knowledge of the field will be provided for you over those first two semesters. All you’ll need is a single A or AS level in any subject.

    Learning & Teaching

    The University of East London uses many different teaching techniques to ensure that each student gets the most form their time at the university. In addition to the standard methods common to the subject at every major learning institution – large, formal lectures, smaller and more informal seminar sessions, practical skills workshops and technical demonstrations – you’ll experience field trips to financial and accountancy organisations, teamwork exercises, guest lectures from industry leaders and more.

    Career Possiblities

    This is a highly career oriented course which prepares you either to take your place immediately in a wide range of industries and sectors, or to seek full professional qualifications. As you’ll graduate with a raft of exemptions from testing into organisations like the AIA, CAP Australia, the ICAEW, the ACCA and CIMA, your training time will me markedly less than that of many other students without such exemptions. Recent graduates have become Internal or External Auditors, Tax Advisors, Budget Controllers, Management Accountants and Financial Accountants.

    Entry Credit

    Successful completion will result in a full BA degree.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. A good IELTS score would qualify, for example.
