Course Summary
The University of East London’s MRes degree in Bioscience is unlike many of its other Master’s Degree programs, in that it is specifically aimed at improving and demonstrating your employability as a researcher within the discipline of Bioscience.
This degree therefore has a strong focus on giving you the research skills you’ll need to survive in a rigorous academic, professional or commercial laboratory environment. A full one third of your credits form the course will be dedicated to research, comprising the Research Skills module and one other optional module which will represent our specialisation within the larger field of Bioscience.
The remainder of your credit hours will come from an individual research project which you will plan, conduct, write up and then defend. This should be designed on a subject appropriate to one of the university’s research groups within the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience. You should include a research proposal with your application.

Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
