    Course Summary

The University of East London’s BSc degree in Medical Physiology will see students learning about the different structures of the human body and how they operate, both individually and as a whole organism. You’ll delve deeply into Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Histology and Anatomy, as well as pursuing your own interests and preparing for a specialist career.

This degree incorporates both an integrated foundation year and a year in industrial or research placement.

    • The foundation year makes it extremely accessible even to those students who may have been out of the educational system for some time or whose marks might not be good enough to get them into a standard Honours degree program. You can apply for this program after achieving as few as 64 UCAS Tariff Points.
    • The year in placement looks great on any CV, sees you learning real world skills from other working experts, and often comes with a respectable pay packet.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.

    Career Possiblities

This degree program was carefully built to help students found an exciting, rewarding career on a rapidly moving scientific discipline with many research, industrial and commercial possibilities. Recent graduates have turned the education they received at UEL into roles at the Royal Brompton, Great Ormond Street and Hammersmith Hospitals, for example. It is also worth noting that many students who take up the year in placement option are offered permanent places with their placement host upon graduation.
