You’ll study the Java coding language, app programming interfaces, the principles of software engineering and algorithm analysis, but you’ll also go on to develop a specialty is fields such as robotics, evolutionary computation, AI, compute games design or assistive technologies.

This four year MSci degree will also give you an understanding of how these amazing branches of computer science can be applied in hundreds of different industries and commercial specialisations across the UK and around the world.

You’ll learn in classrooms, but also in some of the UK’s finest dedicated computer science and engineering labs, and with true experts in their fields. More than 2/3 of the University of Essex’s computer science research was ranked as either ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ in the last Research Excellence Framework.
