    Course Summary

The Medical and Clinical Education program was developed in direct response to demand from the medical profession for a program which would allow them to learn teaching and assessment at a properly accredited university.

As a graduate of the program, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the concepts of learning, assessment and teaching in a clinical or medical environment. It is intended to give health care professionals the ability to teach what they know on a practical, professional level to others. By the time you successfully complete the program, you should be able to:

    • Create flexible, interactive learning pathways in a clinical context
    • Demonstrate independent learning skills towards continuing professional development
    • Conduct ‘quality enhancement’ to improve the learning experiences of your students
    • Convey the ethical, legal and educational framework of healthcare and healthcare policy

The University of Essex’s Postgraduate Diploma in Medical and Clinical Education is open to full and part time students, and is engineered to allow you to gain this level of professional certification while attending normal, full-time work.
