    Course Summary

The University of Essex’s International Management degree program is a great way to secure a position in an international business, especially if you have no previous management experience or specialised management degree. However, it is also very much sought out by experienced managers who wish to gain that vital international perspective that may be holding their career back.

This one year MSc degree will give you a deep understanding of the roles organisation and management play in modern global organisations, as well as the ways management practices differ between widely separated countries and cultures.

You will study business strategy, corporate responsibility and ethics, crass-cultural management techniques and the way international businesses fit in to the global economy. Better still, you’ll do so in a department which is ranked among the top 25 in the UK for research quality.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
