    Course Summary

The University of Exeter’s MSc in Finance and Management is designed for students who have already earned one degree in a related discipline. This course will enhance their understanding of business finance, and give them the tools they need to better manage individuals and groups within their organisation. It is of particular interest, then, to those who wish to begin their career in a finance-related role, but intend to move up to management within that specialty.

This program can be delivered in a standard 12-month format or in a much more intensive 9 month format. Both will help you build on your financial management, research and strategic investment skills, and serve as an introduction to international/global business management.

In addition, this degree program includes intensive computer training in financial databases and software systems including VBA, STATA, BvB Orbis, Zephyr, Datastream and more. Each will be integrated into an appropriate optional or required module.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
