    Course Summary

    Course Outline

    This course is delivered over 4 years for most students.

    Year 1:

    Your core curriculum for the first year will consist of modules designed to give you a solid grounding in modern business and management thought. You will have 4 core modules:

    • Foundations of Finance – an introduction to finance generally
    • Principles of Management – explaining what employers look for in a management candidate
    • Marketing – an overview of the concept and how it is used by today’s companies
    • Organisational Behaviour – explaining the core processes of most organisations, and the principles behind them

    You will also have access to electives from outside the School of Business catalogue.

    Year 2:

    In year 2, you will expand upon year 1 with modules including:

    • Service and Operations Management – explaining operations management on the practical and theoretical levels
    • Entrepreneurship – its core principles, and how entrepreneurs operate within society
    • Business Decision Analysis – using both qualitative and quantitative data to drive decisions
    • Fundamentals of Human Resource Management – explaining HRM on the theoretical and practical levels

    Years 3 and 4 (Honours modules):

    At this point, you will study a core curriculum including:

    • Business And Ethics
    • Global Business
    • Integrative Experiential Learning
    • Research Methods
    • Strategy

    …as well as several electives taken from a wider list of specialties.

    Learning & Teaching
