    Learning & Teaching

Hertfordshire’s teaching methods are largely traditional, as befits a heavily business-focused university. These methods include extensive use of large lectures, smaller seminars and interactive tutorials, as well as a great deal of group and individual study.

Typically, a one hour lecture will be followed by a one hour seminar. The lecture class will introduce new concepts and the seminar will give students the opportunity to discuss these new concepts and get valuable feedback, both from teaching staff and other students.

    Career Possiblities

A finance and economics degree from Hertfordshire will make you a very competitive candidate in a wide range of roles. Recent graduates have gone on to accept roles as bankers, accountants, financial traders and even IT specialists, depending on their interests and special fields of study.

Many students who participated in the year in work placement have been offered permanent positions with their placement hosts, including organisations like Lloyds TSB, PwC and KPMG.

    Entry Credit

Successful completion will result in a 3 year BA degree.

Applicants must typically have earned 72 UCAS Tariff points or the international equivalent. The full list of qualifications can be found here.

All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no section scoring less than 5.5 would qualify, for example.
