    Course Summary

The University of Lethbridge offers a range of Biological Science degrees. At the baccalaureate level this could be a Bachelor of Science (BSc) a Bachelor of Arts and Science (BASc) or a combined BSc in Biological Science and either Management or Education.

Any of these degrees could be a great choice for anyone who wishes to learn more about the living world. Whether it is your passion to study insects, microorganisms, plants or the behaviour of complex animals like humans, Biology is the science for you. When combined with Education content you could prepare to teach the life sciences yourself. When combined with a Management degree, you could be on your way to a leadership career in the biotech or pharmaceutical industries, among many others.

No matter what specialty you pursue, you’ll gain a solid background in both molecular and cellular biology, ecology, evolution and genetics. You’ll also study other sciences at a basic level.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
