    Course Outline

    This program is typically delivered over a single year at full time. Part time is also available, over two years plus additional time for the thesis requirement.

    Modules Include:

    • Applied Systems Analysis

    This module bridges the gap between systems and business analysis, looking at system dynamics, business dynamics and systems thinking.

    • Business Intelligence

    Here you’ll learn how analytics, the decision sciences and business intelligence interact to guide policy in a modern organisation.

    • Information Systems Methods

    Here you’ll explore the many different ways information systems are designed, implemented, analysed and assessed.

    • Strategic Management of IS

    Here you’ll learn how to set effective IS strategy, as well as learning to analyse I methods in terms of comparison evaluation and selection.

    • Fundamentals of Project Management

    This module will teach you about many modern approaches to project management, which will become one of your most used business skills.

    • Digital Twins and Internet of Things

    Here you’ll explore two of the emerging technologies with the most potential to disrupt the business world.

    You will also conduct an extensive Business Research Project.

    Learning And Teaching

    The University of Northampton relies on fairly standard lectures, skills workshops and seminars as well as in the lab and online. You’ll use a mix of IT and business theory themed methods, blending the varied expertise of the university’s diverse teaching staff. You’ll be assessed by way of your coursework, exams and of course on your final project.

    Entry & Credit

    Successful completion will result in a full MSc degree.

    All classes are taught in English, and international students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test. An IELTS score of 6.5 overall would qualify, for example.
