    Course Summary

The University of Ottawa’s MBA program is delivered by the Telfer School of Management. It is open to candidates who meet the first degree requirements and have at least 3 years of relevant work experience. It can be taken at full or part time, in order to remain accessible to those who want to change their career trajectory without pausing or abandoning their current situation. In addition, there is an ‘Executive MBA’ program which is designed for more senior executives who wish to learn skills relating to the new global economy and accessing world markets.

You’ll learn a great deal about leadership and management generally, and learn to better analyse business issues. You’ll learn to identify the challenges and opportunities which arise, and to form an appropriate strategic response to each.

This program also offers many ‘integrative’, industry based projects which will help you relate the theory you learn to real world practice.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
