    Course Summary

A BA degree in Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management from Plymouth University will prepare you equally well for a career in any of these three rapidly growing industries. Better still, it prepares you for intersectional roles or to take a responsible position in a business which may expand its footprint in the future.

You’ll learn to bridge the often incompatible demands of businesses and customers, how to avoid risks and take advantage of new opportunities, and how to lead your team to deliver their best efforts for you and for your organisation.

This course is designed to build on your existing skills, rather than re-inventing the wheel. It is fairly intensive, and can result in you earning a full BA degree in only a single year. It is appropriate for students who have already completed a foundation degree in hospitality, tourism or events management, or who have a substantial amount of work experience in the industry.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
