    Course Summary

Biology is one of the most integrated and diverse areas of modern science. A BSc in Biology from the University of Regina will prepare you for a wide range of careers in the life sciences. You’ll learn in lecture classes, and the laboratory but you’ll also do a great deal of learning and exploration in the field, pursuing your own interests as well as the core curriculum.

You’ll study such wide-ranging subjects as microbiology, plant physiology and development, animal physiology and anatomy, taxonomy and more. You’ll also interact directly with some of the region’s most important employers in the field of life sciences.

In addition to gaining a solid overall knowledge of basic life science principles, you’ll be able to explore your desired specialty at the university’s many scientific facilities. These include the Aquatics Facility, the field station in the Cypress Hills, the EQAL (Environmental Quality Analysis Laboratory), IECS (Institute of Environmental Change and Society) and the recently-established Institute for Microbial Systems and Society.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market.
