    Human Resource Management is the study of the way people are managed in businesses and other organisations. It is the science of arranging the relationship between organisation and individual in order to give the organisation the best possible competitive advantage. It includes the study of management and psychology, leadership, group dynamics and organisational culture. You’ll also learn real world skills in negotiation, recruiting and motivating employees. 

    This degree program is delivered by the University of Regina’s famed Paul J. Hill School of Business, located in the Old Regina Campus. It shares a close association with the Richard Ivey School of Business at UWO, the best regarded such institution in Canada. It is known for its excellent BBA programs, and feeds into the Kenneth Levene Graduate School of Business’s Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM), and a Master of Administration in Leadership programs.

    This degree program is typically delivered over 4 years of full time study.

    U of R’s BBA in Human Resource’s three flagship courses are:

    BUS 260 will see you learning how people organise into groups and behave in formal settings. 

    BUS 260, in comparison, shows you how to put that theoretical understanding into practice in modern business or organisational settings. 

    Strategic Human Resource Management is the capstone course, where you will learn how to integrate all of the HR material you’ve learned strategically, and turn it towards achieving organizational goals and objectives.

    Learning And Teaching

    The Hill School of Business relies on many different teaching methods to convey the content described above. These will almost certainly include formal lectures, interactive tutorials and skills sessions as well as seminar style classes. 

    You’ll have access to coaching and tutoring resources, including free sessions provided by UR International’s Global Learning Centre. The Student Success Centre offers session as well, including math and statistics tutoring, academic writing support and English language coaching.

    Many U of R Human Resource Management graduates have gone on to higher level degree programs such as the Kenneth Levene Graduate School of Business’s MBA, and eventually to responsible, leadership level roles in business. They have built rewarding careers as human resource managers, job analysts, labour relations specialists, labour relations directors, occupational health and safety specialists, payroll and compensation administrators, recruiters, talent managers, staffing managers or training and development managers.

    Entry & Credit

    Successful completion will result in a 4 year BBA degree.

    Applicants must typically have completed a secondary school education or the international equivalent. This should include English, Maths and Science content.

    Though French Immersion programs are available, all classes are taught in English unless otherwise noted. International students will be required to show proficiency in English by scoring well on an approved test.
