USask’s MSc program in Computer Science is a great choice for any student who hopes to become a highly placed professional in the tech industry, but it is also a great way to begin a scientific research career. Graduates often become project leaders or senior programmers fairly quickly.

USask’s PhD program provides very intensive scientific training, and is a great choice for students hoping to build a career in either r commercial or academic research. Many become university professors and researchers, or join R&D units at large companies across Canada and the world.

Students will have access to the PIRC (the Plant Phenotyping and Imaging Research Centre). The program is actively recruiting graduate students whose specialties lie in algorithmic modelling of digital plants, big data analytics, bioinformatics for linking genotypes to phenotypes, data acquisition and analysis or web systems and collaboration.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
