    Course Summary

Waterloo University’s BSc in Biology is a great starting point for an academic career in the life sciences, but also qualifies you for a range of lucrative commercial or industrial roles. You’ll explore the cutting edge technologies and real world discoveries are changing the face of the life sciences.

This degree will not only make you familiar with the research and laboratory techniques biologists use every day, it will allow you to make sense of new developments as they happen, keeping yourself on the forefront as the science of biology advances.

You can further differentiate your degree by adding one or more minor fields of study. You’ll also have access to plenty of paid co-operative study opportunities. This is a chance to graduate with relevant, real world experience under your belt, and should not be missed!

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
