    Course Summary

The BSc degree in Computer Science offered by tThe University of Wolverhampton was designed to produce the software designers, coders and software engineers who will define the technological landscape of tomorrow. You’ll receive a general education in computer science and programming, but you’ll also be able to select your own specialty y choosing optional modules. That specialty might be chosen from Networking, Databases or Web Based Development, or might be something else entirely.

You’ll study the basic mathematics and principles of computer science, and then integrate these with best industrial practice as you learn specific computer languages, techniques, methodologies and tool sets. Perhaps more importantly, you’ll ‘learn how to learn’, gaining the research skills and knowledge you’ll need to stay at the forefront of computer science and coding as your career progresses.

As a part of this degree you’ll learn employability skills and have opportunities to apply what you’ve learned to real world problems.

If you are changing direction after starting in another career area, you will possess valuable work experience and professional awareness. Many employers actively seek candidates with these benefits. Our network of contacts, a dedicated employability service and a reputation in the legal profession mean we also have an outstanding track-record of finding students legal employment. Many employers favour GDL students in an increasingly competitive legal job market. Through studying another degree subject, you will have gained many transferable skills. By taking the conversion route into law, you are showing motivation and determination by choosing law at a later stage than some others. This looks good to employers.
